I was having a similar problem a few days ago. It was discussed in the following thread:
http://forum.exetools.com/showthread.php?t=15757

The solution I found was to clear my cookies, cache, offline website data, active logins, and site preferences in firefox. I am not sure which one of those fixed the problem, but after clearing all of those, the problem went away.

Yeah, I had this problem yesterday but in the whole forum. And no solution worked at all (I tried another browser in another machine and still the same problem). :-/
Surprisingly, the last time I noticed the server had issues (last weekend or so), I managed to connect through proxies. Any explanation for that?
