Steam platform

Steam is a digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer and communications platform developed by Valve Corporation. It is used to distribute games and related media online, from small independent developers to larger software houses. Steam also has community features, automated game updates, in-game voice and chat functionality.

Since there is not much information -in public at least- on how this protection works, I did some reversing/unpacking on a couple of games. I managed to "unwrap" those, but I was not able to create a working client emulation (like some groups do) that may work on most of the games.

If anyone wants to share some info, feel free to reply.

Regards.

Your best source of info would be cs.rin.ru .
Some documentation of Steam is there, like for needed functions to be emulated, etc.

Thanks, I will have a look. I have managed to emulate some functions by myself, but seems something is missing. Hope to complete the puzzle soon.
Regards.

Also, thier IRC channel at #cs.rin.ru at irc.rizon.net is quite helpful too. Many of the Steam reversers from cs.rin lurk there.
