PE Explorer v1.96

this is really strange... i'm not registered to any name and there's not pexdata.rdat file in the app's directory.. all files open OK.. no Nags.... nothing strange..... maybe they updated the installer or main exe... or either you're using a different patch.i've posted before on the board... search a little and you'll find the right one.

No, I definitely hit Generate and used the serial to Register both times I tried it. The first time I updated an early version. When I patched it said "Patched 16 bytes". The second time I uninstalled completely and removed all traces from the registry and reinstalled. This time is said the exe was a later version and and it could not patch it but it still went ahead and made a backup and new exe. In both cases the backup and new exe where the same size. In second case fc /b said they were identical. Didn't check first time, sorry. In both cases the registration code was silently accepted. No "congratulations" or "Sorry", just nothing. Main exe is dated 15 NOV 2006, size 2819320, CRC32 is AB9D8865.

just downloaded the r5 from official site and the patch doesn't apply anymore. The silently updated the tool. Next time better to distribute both tool and patch..

Anyway the problem with ALL these releases is that there are a lot of features disabled. The first to bypass this protection was a crack for r4 by Hatori (afair), which enable (have been rebuilt because were crypted) the usually disabled features (like save assembler, multiple resource saving etc)..

It seems that even with the 1337 obfuscation they discovered it was about a crack release.
