HAPPY (EARLY) BIRTHDAY, JMI! I hope you have a wonderful birthday, my friend. Your near countless contributions to the reversing forums will always be immensely treasured and respected. ;)

JMI 03-01-2012 02:24

I'm so old I can't always remember my birthday.:D

I have a first cousin who was born on February 29th and only has an "official" birthday every four years.

Regards,

Thanks for the Birthday Greetings.

And don't worry about the aging process:

Happy Birthday to our old and good friend, JMI.

JMI 03-01-2012 12:35

As I often say:

Getting older is better than the alternative. If one is not getting older, then they are already dead.

When I was a young child I couldn't figure out how my sister claimed she was "older" than I was. I correctly pointed out to her that "my" birthday came first every year, so "I" must be the older. :D

Neved did get her to agree to that childhood "logic." She always thought she was the boss,..... as still does, even though we are both in our 60's now, with grown children of our own who are probably as old, or older than many of our members here. Now we are counting grandchildren. ;)

Again, thanks for the birthday greetings.

Now we can all go and play with Windows 8 Consumer Preview. I was just beginning to get used to Windows 7 and now they want to change it all again.

They call this "progress."

Regards,

yogi_saw 03-01-2012 12:56

Hehe i also want to join the party....oh sorry first thing first "WISHING YOU A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY JMI"

Happy birthday! May your coming years be filled with dreams and good madness.

bilbo 03-02-2012 05:32

Strange, he is not angry 'cause we are flooding the forum... He is becoming really old, isn't it?
Anyway, happy birthday to you...
I too was born in February, but it wasn't a reason of happiness for me:
"Il troppo stroppia" (italian) -> "too much breaks the bag"

Zipdecode 03-02-2012 07:30

Happy birthday
200 years and you meet more hehehehe

JMI 03-02-2012 08:50

Most of the posters in this Thread do not need "post count" to have further access to the forums "public" sections, so "flooding" would only be an issue if it appeared someone was doing it for post count reasons.

So far, there had only been one poster who made this his first post, and it was most likely in recognition of the fact that I had just created an account for him at the request of one of our long time members. :)

Anyway, again thanks for the greeting and the kind words.

Now everybody back to reversing and giving Windows 8 a try. ;)

Regards,

bunion 03-03-2012 02:25

Happy belated birthday JMI & hope you have many more :)

Aw the best

Salut,

Do you not see the button marked "Thanks" ? (or has Chessgod worn it out? ;)

Git

That's indeed the issue. I would have clicked the "Thanks" button on your comment, Git, but I couldn't find the darn thing. :D

JMI 03-04-2012 03:10

That's "strange". At the bottom of all the threads (except my own) I see:

Edit; Quote; Multi-Quote; Quick Reply; and Groan Buttons.

On my own posts I see:

Edit; Quote; Multi-Quote; and Quick Reply

I'll have to take a look at the settings in the software to see if it is restricted to certain usergroups and/or postcounts.

Regards,

chessgod101 03-04-2012 03:24

I have noticed there is a setting active that removes the "Thanks" button from a post once it reaches a specific age. It is probably set for 5 or 7 days.

P.S: Don't take my response to Git literally. I could truly see the thanks button fine. ;)

JMI 03-04-2012 12:45

In this venue, I couldn't see your tongue in your cheek! :D

[For the benifit of those who may not be native English speakers, I simply explain that "tongue in cheek" is used to imply that a statement or other production is humorously intended and it should not be taken at face value. It's just another way of saying: "I was just kidding."] :D

There are probably similar expressions in many languages.

Hey my old mate, just stumbled on this thread:eek: Birthday 02/29 eh? I didn't realise we had an oddball here, but they have to be somewhere:D
Remember "Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one" So just coming up to 18, best years of your life:cool:
Best regards from another very oldie Hob

JMI 03-05-2012 04:34

Hi hobferret:

My birthday is March 1, chessgod101 was just posting his greetings a day early. :D

I did mention that I have a first cousin whose birthday is on February 29th. She's "officially" only 15 1/4 this year, but unofficially 65.

Hope you are doing well and glad to see you drop in again.
