Hosts File Patch Maker

1 Attachment(s)
Hello guys

Here's my First project- Hosts File Patch Maker :) .Adding websites to hosts file is a bit time taking process(i.e 5-6 sec :D) & sometimes you may need to google the location of hosts file,so this tool creates a patcher which can modify the host file of windows by executing it.
As NONE OF US wants our hosts file to be get modified by any unknown sources,so it creates patch in ONLY .BAT format.By doing so it gives 100% control to the user using it!! User can FULLY observe ,modify,add/remove things EVEN after the patch is created(by opening in notepad)!!
Executing the patch simply adds included websites to host file.

USES-:
If there are some websites which needed to blocked along with Patching it, then Patch generated by it can added with releaser's patch/keygen.It would be far easy for the other person adding that sites to host file having FULL TRANSPARENCY & CONTROL of what is being modified.

OS Supported-: All 32/64 bit windows OSes.

Requirements-: Net FrameWork v4 & above

Public Link-: http://www92.zippyshare.com/v/f6oRDkdT/file.html

UPCOMING-: I will add/merge it with other utility so that we can also -:
  • Cut, copy, paste, duplicate, enable, disable and move one or more entries at a time.
  • Filter and sort when there are a large number of host entries.
  • Enable and disable entire hostsfile from application or tray.
  • Archive and restore various hostsfile configurations when switching between environments.
  • Automatically ping endpoints to check availability.

Please test & report the errors(if any).Its my 1st tool which i made!! :)

PS-: If you find it a little bit worthy please don't forget to hit rep/thanks button!! Its my FIRST project & doing so it will encourage me further to make new tools.

Thank You :)

the location is always %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
also, whats the point in pinging the site if you're going to block it ?

not for me im afraid

Thank you for testing & giving feedback! Yeah you r correct, actually that line of code i included was when I was trying to test something & it is redundant! I forgot to remove it. Will fix that soon! :)
