XP Debug
Hello All,
I found that these versions have a "time-bomb" at 180 days.. To remove Time bomb: 1. Copy setupreg.hiv off cd to drive let's say c:\setupreg.hiv 2. Open regedit 3. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE 4. File -> Load Hive and specify file c:\setupreg.hiv 5. Give it any name for exp: setupreg 6. Now navigate to: setupreg \ ControlSet001 \ Services \ setupdd 7. Open (Default) Key This field contains of 16 bytes, first 4 bytes are the expiration time in minutes for example 80 F4 03 00 in orginal windows .net enterprise server 3604 is 259200 = 180 * 24 * 60 and that is 180 days. If you change that value to 00 00 00 00 then say bye bye to time bomb. 8. Now go back to setupreg key and use File -> Unload Hive Congrats you have made your own no timebomb setupreg.hiv file! Next you will have to replace the setupreg.hiv file that exists on the CD with the one you just created. :p |
What is Debug/Checked build? A test or beta version for Service Pack 2? Thanks for uploading NTWIZARD :)

Debug VErsion
It is a version of the OS that has the hooks (Debug DLL's) that one could use to debug device drivers (or other programs) using tools such as Visual Studio that they can use to optimize or fix errors in thier code..
|
Thanks for answering ntwizard ... Can such builds be used for normal/regular use?
|
Debug Verison
You probably won't want to.. it is slower as it load many debug DLL's that have extra hooks for debugging purposes..
 |
Also, most compilers turn off all optimizations when compiling in Debug mode, which can result in a much slower binary.

Thanks again, ntwizard and Satyric0n!! :)
