Hello
I thought the best way to start off might be a little post to say hi.. so Hi!
I have been interested in "reversing" and coding in general for ages, ever since I first learnt that I could "poke" numbers into memory on my first speccy 48k. My trouble has always been one of lack of concentration, being easily distracted and probably just the sheer amount of information there is to take in. Many times I have sat down and said "Right...today is the day. I will get to grips with this machine code lark" start some tutorial I have dug up from some place, and within a few hours, find myself thrown off on some tangent. All my dreams of internal mastery of x86 or FPU internals forgotten. I can't count the number of times I have done this, and although I have picked up quite a bit of knowledge (prob more than I realise) I never seem to have got to the next level. Quite a few times when my search for some arcane tool, mentioned in an ancient txt file I'd found on some obscure ftp, had brought me to the gates of "exetools" and every time had tried to join, I had found no room at the inn =( I somehow managed to find the site again during another fit of study, but to my surprise, this time when I hit register I wasn't thrown back out into the cold (so thanks to whomever, flipped the switch this time to allow new members!) Perhaps now I might have a better chance of getting some solid experience under my belt, by being a part of a group of like minded people. So anyway, I hope I can be of some use, and might be forgiven for any stupid questions I might ask (can't learn without stupid questions now can you?). cheers B |
