IDA Pro (what happened to edit->patch)
 

What happened to Patching in IDA Pro, I was using an older version up until recently when i got a copy of 4.5.1.770 and the edit->patch features appear to have disappeared, I tried using them as IDC Commands, and still got nothing from them. Anyone got any advice?

try this in idagui.cfg file:

DISPLAY_PATCH_SUBMENU = YES // Display the Edit,Patch submenu

As an FYI, a number of 4.5 users have reported that, after making this change and enabling the Patch function, that the resultant saved DIF file is basically empty; that is, there is no DIF info in it.

This appears to have been fixed in 4.6

I don't normally generate outputs, but use patch -> assemble, then grab the changes required for the new block of code either view hex view or patch -> change bytes and put them in a hex editor..But I'll watch out if I make .DIFs, or find a more recent version with out the bug.
