I don't believe that it is doing anything other than confirming that you actually "own" a Win98 disk before it commences the upgrade. I don't believe it does anything other than confirm the existence of the disk, since it is "upgrading" a Win98 OS already on your machine. I believe that the only significant issue is that you "activitated" two "seperate" upgrade copies of XP. That is what is checked and where you would get caught. Unless, of course, you have the XP keygen or circumvention program which is floating around.
