Par files question
With par files you can reconstruct any missing rar from the group, but why can't you re-use that par again for a different missing rar?
Also, what is the max amount of pars you can include? Does it depend on the number of rars? Thanks. |

PARs are not just for RARs, they can be used for any sequence of files, just as RARs are the most popular. The number of PARs you can have is not really limited as they are identified by a MD5 hash algorithm.
If you go over to Sourceforge, you'll find source code and documentation to how PARs work, which includes the old PAR format, and the new PAR2 format (which recovers blocks instead of files). |

Thanks.
I'm looking for a good unlimited Usenet provider, with Easynews as a backup. |
