it's like all companies, once you rich enough, you sell them and then can get again onto another business, check WhatsApp, sold for billion dollars.
That's literally the tech startup model. Develop tech, get funding, grow a userbase, run at a loss until you get bought or fail, pay out funders if you get bought and walk away with your 20-30%.
