Exclamation Armadillo (SiliconRealms) faked forum - A MAFIA?

Dear Folks,

At
hxxp://support.siliconrealms.com/index.php?showtopic=1854&st=0
I've found an post which I wanted to reply on. The problem is that Chad clan is blocking every post which don't bring fame to Armadillo. Let me answer it here then.

sKAMER (notice how it sounds like lamer),

You have done a great job really.
You have keygenned the *free* version of Armadillo. Congrats!
You might just as well have asked for those keys from DR! They give them for free!

If you wanted to help us doing the support by giving free keys for the free version, you couldn't have done it any better!

Thanks for your support.

Yes, he's quite fast... at "cracking" something that Digital River gives away for free!

Just so everyone knows, including sLAMER, the Digital River Edition of Armadillo is useless for anything except protecting programs for the Digital River Network. That's why DR makes it available free, and why we didn't bother protecting that certificate very strongly.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And here comes my unwanted post (didn't "certified" by Chad & Mafia)

Hi there warm people.

I like to talk to honest people, where friendship is the principle. I'm really pleased to meet such a kind place.

1. If "SK" sounds for you like "L" then someone has serious troubles with pronunciation and/or hearing. I recommend
the following article: hxxp://xxx.icbeusjc.com.br/plantao/language/lang02.html

2. If you claim about "free" version "easy to crack" then may I ask you, dear sir, WHY ARE YOU PROTECTING IT THEN???

4. "we didn't bother protecting that certificate very strongly" It's like I've bought Mercedes A Class and it breaks down every day. Then I come to the dealer and he should say (as you're): "Sir... it's just A class... we didn't bother developing it very strongly" No comments.

3. I see after trying lots of tricks to fright Skamer you've chosen another (good indeed) way: to make him feel that you don't bother about cracks. Very good decision - I understand you have so much customers (frequently being lied by you) that you don't need another BLIND clients.

4. "Thanks for your support" - Yeah, I agree with that. Skamer! Thanks for relasing Armadillo! I don't need to buy it to use its cool features (of course I don't mean "protection" but other "nice" options like showing splash screen during loading "protected" executable)

5. If I were you, I would ask Skamer for cooperation and offer him a job. That would save you LOT OF TIME and STRENGTHEN THE PROTECTION. But I'm only usual person, who don't understand these complex market rules (relasing "free" protected versions, "weak" certificates, etc.).

Best wishes.

Uhhhh...

They really made you angry, eh? But I totally agree with you (as ever ), but don't fear... Their lame attitude will probably soon have effect on their sales... Message killing can't save anyone from disaster.

Byyyezzzz,

I totally agree aswell, I wasnt aware a special version for DR of Armadillo existed up till now, but in any event I dont see any reason why it wouldnt be protected as strongly or how the DR version wouldnt be useful for somethin other than the DR Network. In any event a software protector should show off its features and uncrackability in any event right? Having any keygen possible is pretty damn bad and compared with how many times ASProtect and such have been keygenned, altho Im aware ASProtect uses pure RSA and its actually almost impossible to keygen

In fact is not useful. Dr edition disables key signature (default 9) and key option (v2, v3, short v3)

dear armadillo customer, take look on help file and read..

Digital River Edition keys are locked to the ShortV3 key system at level 9, the highest protection Armadillo can offer.

trust me..

IN FACT IT'S EXACTLY WHAT I'M SAYING.

YOU CAN'T CHOOSE THE KEYS AND THE SIGNATURE OR NOT SIGNATURE. SO IT IS NOT USEFUL SINCE YOU CAN'T CHOOSE YOUR OWN COMBINATION BUT YOU ARE LOCKED TO A DEFAULT ONE.

THAT'S WHAT I MEAN WITH NOT USEFULL

Lightbulb Someone went too far.

Guys, are my eyes reading correctly?

Do I understand someone wants to use keygenned Armadillo to protect something?

Please listen what I think about it:

1. If it's cracked, it doesn't mean to be STEALED. Dream Team don't crack it to rob Chad team but to show all Armadillo features. Then you could decide if you like it or not.

2. If you like it and are satisfied with its protection level then GO and BUY IT. $249 isn't very much if you are developing any software. After all I believe that Chad could even give you an discount on that price if you tell him that you saw keygenned version but didn't want to steal.

3. If you're gonna protect your software with illegal version of Armadillo then I don't understand ANYTHING.

Regards,
dyn!o

THAT'S AN ETHICAL PROBLEM, NOT A PRACTICAL ONE.

It is very ironic to use a Keygenned protector to protect your app :P And also shows a very cheap software author who I cant feel sorry for when there stuff is pirated.

GabryJ:

Using all capital letters is generally considered shouting. Sometimes it is appropriate for emphasis, but you should try to avoid doing it all the time.
