KiNGrichard, I believe it's unlikely to be immediate peering issues from local user ISP considering it's a large chunk of Europe that is apparently affected. It's painfully slow for me too.

One solution I've used previously is to locate some open proxies in a different part of the world and bounce through there. Handily now I know that USA proxies are an option too, thanks to this thread.
