Question question about wisdec under 2K

Ok, I have searched here and woodmann, along with extensive Googling, along with a Copernic search.......

when I use wisdec under win 2K (yes I did unpack it) it starts to de-compile my selected script (setup.ins) however it seems that it dosen't finish the job, it does a "cancel" before indicating the job is complete .... is this normal ??

I haven't tried any of the other script de-compilers yet, but I will.

I'm just curious if there is a size limit for wisdec or is it posible that the setup.ins has protection against being de-compiled with wisdec ... if so just a small hint about what might be used to stop wisdec.

I do know there are protections against other programs but I haven't heard of one for wisdec.

BTW the setup.ins is compiled with 5.0 so I wouldn't think it should be problematic..

Ok, I have answered one question ......

Apearently NO it is not normal, I just de-compiled the setup.ins for nero 5.0 and it worked fine.... when it completed it said "ready" in the status bar at bottom of window instead of "cancel"

EDIT: the compiler version for nero setupins is 3.00

the setup.ins I'm looking at is from NspPro if you be interested

Thanx much

looks like I answer my own question again

This right from a "readme"

If you currently have a problem with an Installshield script file you can use either use
NaTzGULs and SiraXs wisdec, which is easy to use but has problems with many install shield scripts,
or use isDcc which can handle most scripts but that one gives you "only" the source of the script
which canīt be used immediately. Only with the install shield compiler itself can those scripts be
compiled again. Often you need the right compiler version for your script version and even then it can
be tricky to compile it.

END C&P from "readme"

seems that only program that will de-compile the setup.ins is "InstallShield Decompiler v1.00 beta 15"

and i5comp is only file that attempts to extract CAB files ...

any other suggestions are very welcome Thanx
