Newbie Starting out with CrypKey

Hi Everyone.

Thanks for allowing open registration again, I have been looking at your site for a time now.

I am just gathering tools and information.

I have a particular program that I am attempting to crack for my first attempt.

Its protected with CrypKey, I have found the tutorial at h**p://www.woodmann.com/crackz/Tutorials/Crypkeye.htm and reading it a few times getting started.

Any other tutorials or information that would be helpful I appreciate in advance.

I hope to be able to contribute to this forum where possible.

Well if you've actually visted the Woodmann Forum, read the FAQ in the BIG RED LETTERS there and then used the SEARCH button there, you would have found 47 Threads there discussing crypkey, although it is often referred to as "crapkey."

And by then, since you should be getting the hang of the SEARCH button, you should try it here, where, using "crypkey" (again without the quotes) you should find 20 threads.

And THEN, if you are really, really desperate you might actually try "Searching on the net" using something really complex, such as "crypkey tutorials" (without the quotes) which would lead to whatever tutorials are out there.

One of the most important skills a reverse engineer can learn is how to search for information.

In addition to what JMI told you, plz be more specific about the version of crypkey you're trying to reverse, is it the latest 6.1 or an earlier version? if it's the latest you'll find several crypkey experts interrested in it...

I also had few questions about crypkey too, I might be able to help you if you do your homework first , that is, if you read enough and try hard on your own.
