USB Audio demo version - any tips for patching a driver?
Hi.
I've never touched a Windows driver, so i ask this question. Last version of my usb sound card is demoed/crippled, so every 30 segs it does a "beep". Old version is giving me problems in W10x64. So I downloaded this last version and I was thinking how could I work with Windows Drivers. This is a x64 Driver. I suppose driver certification is going to be a problem. Anyone has experience patching a x64 driver? The other way i have is trying to keygen it. Apart from that, any suggestions for a beginner in this field? Thanks! |

Beginners playing with kernel drivers sounds like a blue screen of death in the works . Try playing with the testsigning option in the BCD if you want to load it as an unsigned driver. Otherwise the keygenning aspect might very well be in usermode with just a single check in the driver. Sometimes modifying a flag in the registry is all that is needed. Keeping testsigning enabled is not the best idea, so the keygen is far better here.

Not really, it came with USB audio driver. Years later i found they were developed by some company, they have a new version of it, 64bits etc, but i found the driver.
This dac is very good for the price it has (it keeps selling), Behringer uca-202, you can get it around 30$ brand new. The updated driver cost 60E (more than double of DAC), crazy. https://www.usb-audio.com/ I'll try to keygen it using IDA, tracing and debugging kernel drivers is not my field by far. |

I have never used this product before but I managed to find a serial number for the driver which is supposed to work with the current version.
Because I dont have the hardware I'm cant finish their setup and validate this serial. But try it out: 00.6E.89.6A.51.E3.33.AA.7B.0D.59.65 |
