Why the site is loading so slowly?

Since ten years ago since I read this site on a regular basis, perhaps even more than this site loads very very slowly. Regardless of my speed Internet connection or service provider or workstation that work site loads very very slowly.
Thinking together to discuss this problem because other users may not have experiences like me and just happens to experience a high speed access. Unfortunately, after uploading a page of this site can expect even several minutes to load. The same happens with pages on the forum or post email box where not many times you get the double message, or send a message twice, because the post is not saved page in a reasonable time and press the submit button once.
I'm curious if the same happens to other people ...
What would be the problem?

Been a member here for 9 years and it has always done exactly as you say. Sometime if you click the button/link a second time the page will load quickly.

As you might be aware, this forum is hosted in China. This means both from Europe and US you will have at least a 500ms (round-time) ping. If you're outside of the PRC and try to access websites hosted inside all traffic has to pass the "big firewall" twice (request and response), which makes the connection even slower and some packets might get dropped or even give a short ip address ban. This probably isn't you fault, but your ISP's router sending your packets together with "suspicious" packets from other users.

If users accessing this forum from inside PRC have a normal speed and ping, this would be a possible explanation.

For me (Europe) the forum usually loads in less than 20 sec, but sometimes isn't accessible at all.

Click each link twice, as a matter of course, and you get an OK site without much delay.

I noticed it's faster if you browse the site during early hours (3-6 am China local time).

Sometimes, it is very fast.
Most of the time, it is slow but acceptable.

Rarly, it is extremely slow or down because some bad guy is attacking our forum.

I have not many problems (Eastern Europe).

With for example, Moldova (Chisinau) or Ukraine (Odessa).
