You can order free books from Intel.
I got it to my door just 3 days after I ordered it.
The bill was 4 pages with alot of zeros :-)

For anyone not in the US however, don't order these as you'll get custom charges slapped on the bill that will NOT be zeroed!

Is there any confirming e-mail from them after you guys's orders?
How long if the order is issued in Asia?

You can also get developer manuals for the x86-64 (AMD64) architecture, used by AMD Opteron and AMD Athlon64, from AMD for free at hxxp://sausmaps.amd.com/AMDeMA/www/AMD64_programmers_manual_order.jsp

Note that you must be in the USA or Canada to order these. If you are not in USA or Canada, you can only get the PDFs of these books.

These are useful not only for the new x86-64 instructions, but they also document AMD's 3DNow!, 3DNow!+, and MMX+ instruction sets (which are used by AMD's Athlon MP and XP processors).

Well, I got the books free, but about a week later I received a bill with courier charges. I refused to pay the courier charges (in writing to them), and they seemed to drop the charges.

IIRC the intel books are out of stock. I got my copy a week and a half after the order, and I got the AMD books a month after my order ( 3 days ago)

There were no charges as of yet
