what happened to the RCE board?

Hi,

As some member are also member of the RCE(like JMI), I want to know
what happened to RCE and anticrack. I was not in the scene for sometime
and now everything is gone. Thank you very much to Aaron for this place being up.

RCE Forum is still operating fine. It is just temporarily closed to the public which I finish upgrading to the latest 3.0.5 version of vBulliten. Was only closed yesterday for that process and hopefully will reopen sometime tomorrow. The upgrade is all installed and working correctly. I just have to intigrate some of our own code modifications to handle things like clickable links and other issues we modified to operate the way we preferred.

Anticrack, and several other boards were shut down by a hack attack that affected some Forum software and the modifications of vBulletin are to help prevent such attacks on their systems. I believe Anticrack is back on the net, however. Try a search and I believe you will find it is back.

Yes. I have a very good idea. I finished adding the patches to the new version of vBulletin a little while ago and the Board is essentially ready to re-open. I have left a message for a couple of the other admins to take a final check when they check in, usually later tonight, my time, or early tomorrow morining, my time.

Assuming they agree that we are ready, either of them can open it back to the public. You should not really notice anything particular about the "new" version, other than that it will say "version 3.0.5" at the bottom.

I just reopened the Woodmann RCE Forums.

We will be watching for a few days for any issues related to the new version and may make further minor tweeking, but it's back "online" now.
