As a researcher, (and also since I did nto have the luxury of learning programming in college, but rather have to teach myself from the past year or so), I do study others' code and I maintain a notebook (digital) wherein I copy and keep interesting snippets of code from various repos online, that could be later modified and re-used later in my own code.

It is not always possible to even remember where I got that snippet from since in nearly all the cases it would be HEAVILY modified to suit the work at hand.

Since Mr Exodia decided to make such a huge fuss over this tool that I created within a few minutes to suit just a certain specific purpose, I went back and tried to see what he seemed to be unhappy about.

ANALYSIS:

Apparently, he seems to be unhappy about the snippet that was used in my tool, to run a command in a CMD shell without actually showing the black CMD window to the user (for asethetics). As he said, what I used was quite inefficient.
But hey, users are going to run my tool for a maximum of 30 seconds, to enable and disable the Windows Update. So I did not care about efficency so much.

Secondly, as he said, and also as I mentioned in thread about the distro, Powershell had been removed from the distro and hence I needed to run the commands without using PS. SO obviously, all the other code was different. And since there is no PS in my distro, I could not use the existing tool.
That is all.

Therefore NO mystery and the tool was NOT created to "steal" credit from anyone, as Mr Exodia's posts seem to imply. I only needed to create the tool as I wanted something that would not need POWERSHELL to run !

I am STILL waiting to see if Mr Exodia would give his permission for me to contact PAYPAL so that JUST AS HE HAD made my chat public, I also can make HIS details public.

Just a quick note : PAYPAL would not only FREEZE the existing funds, but also would not do any business with anyone who PUBLICLY purports to have earned money (and is still) earning money by cracking commercial protectors and aps

I chose to publish the whole conversation because I think it gives a more nuanced picture than your screaming CAPS and red fonts, which are just a smokescreen trying to get the conversation away from the part where your code is strikingly similar to someone else's.

Anyway YOU know very well that we stopped interacting ONLY after you felt snubbed a couple of times on Stack Exchange and other places when people voted for and prefrred my answers over yours. YOU have been investigated (not as Mr Exodia of course, but as Duncan Ogilvie) for FRAUD at least THREE TIMES in the last 8 months, by PAYPAL ( I am not even countingthe other financial institutions).
Why are you silent about that ?

So here we have Mr Exodia confessing to the following :

He cracks armadillo software (commercial) for money, he paid "relevant" taxes on the ILLEGAL money thus earned by cracking armadillo protected apps, "he does not care about anybody pirating anything" ...

Further it seems he's tring to rake up a fight by bringing tsrh repeatedly into the picture (third time he mentioned them in this thread).

I am sure that PAYPAL would be VERY interested to know that Duncan Ogilvie is someone who not only cracks commercial apps and earns money but also PAYS "relevant" taxes on the ILEGAL money so earned.

Then he has no other work other than to go and to dig into someone's FREE tools and then try to start a fight while all the time HE is the one CRACKING and getting PAID for the illegal work.

Well, EVERYONE here is a witness to the fact that HE GAVE PERMISSION for me to contact PAYPAL and other authorities to expose his FRAUD.

I have only two things to say regarding this :

Someone who posts the ENTIRE and PRIVATE conversation database without permission of the other party on a PUBLIC THREAD is just not fit to be a moderator at all.

I am sure that anyone who values their privacy at all will agree with me.

Secondly, the PROPER way for mrexodia to deal with this would have been to POLITELY ask in a single sentence whether I'd used the code in the tool from somewhere else.

Then I would have answered in a polite manner.

There was NO NEED to spend hours digging in my github repo containing over a thousand repos [EDIT : Let me correct that - its actually 1800 Repos when I just checked).
Then devirtualize the tool.
Then even make a ZIPPYSHARE ARCHIVE (LOL) as if I was someone who would delete the repos in a hurry and then make a post as if he had caught a great wrongdoing.

Nobody in their right mind would use PayPal for anything other than paying securely with their credit card. But feel free to report whatever nonsense you like.

You DO receive a lot of your funds through paypal and many a time they kept it on hold for ages.
Same for your CrowdFunding monies

All in all, mrexodia's initial post clearly reeks of JEALOUSY towards me. Otherwise there wouldbe NO need for such accusatory remarks.

Just one point I woudl like to say if you would not mind..
