how other people get's the format of VB p-code?

Recently I'm reading some old binary written with VB, built to p-code. I'm wondering how other people and tutorials got the p-code and other internal structure. Is there any leaked VB source code from m$, or we can only reverse engineering msvbvm60.dll?

Thanks
