making a good patcher
Ok say you have to manually unpack an exe and you patch/crack it, how would you go about making a patcher for the origonal program so you dont have to distribute the patched exe?
like i unpacked somthing with aspack, but when i repack it, it messes up the icons and the size isnt near the origonal exe so ofcourse it would be very hard to find the offsets with a patcher and change them. |

Now doesn't this seem like a "perfect" issue for you to try with the search button and your favorite search engine on the net?
I just did that here and got 40 hits, several discussing various specific patchers. One of them was even by YOU discussing and linking to a patcher. Using "Patcher + cracking" found more than 10 pages of listings with Mr. google. Before you cry "HELP ME" it would be a very useful learning experience if you actually tried to "HELP YOURSELF." Particularily on things like this, where the chances that SOMEBODY has discussed it before, are pretty much a dead certainty. Learning where to look for and find answers will, in the long run, help you much more than giving you the answers. I recognize this does not satisfy the need for instant gratification, but that is not a very "useful" trait in any case. Regards,

r3L4x u may also search here-->hxxp://66.98.132.48/forum/
But before searching or posting on the above link do a simple search for these 3 alphabets-->JMI . Some search engines allow minimum 4 letter keyword...so what u can do is type it like this-->*JMI And let me warn u...if u get any results for this keyword be careful before posting a similar question like the above one ![]() ![]() |

Actually the only three letters you need to survive on the Woodman Forum are "FAQ," preceeded by "Read the."
![]() Also, from your question, I do not believe what you are seeking is really related to "inline patching." As I understand your question, you are looking for a patcher for a program you have discovered how to patch so it works the way you want, but you only want to "distribute" the crack and not the full "patched exe." "Inline patching" generally refers to patching the exe by redirecting the running code to another location in the file, having it run your own code, and then jumping back to where you were, or some other point you want to be. Part of the process is finding a place to put your "new" code and what it is supposed to changes, but this second part is what one does in making any crack. A "patcher," which you described would be a small exe on its own, which when executed would take the original exe, find certain offsets and change the code to whatever you want it to be. In the first instance, you would be distributing the full, patched exe. In the second instance, you would be distributing a small patch that, itself, fixes the original exe. Of course, you can "search" for "inline patching" here or there and find out all this yourself. ![]() Regards,
