Aaron had set up new Usergroup categories, posting limitations connected to these new Usergroups and new Promotion Rules tied to these Usergroups. There are also new manditory password update rules.

NEW USERGROUP CLASSIFICATIONS:

When you first register, you join usergroup "Registered"
Registered users have limited rights. They may only create 1 Thread and 1 Post within a 24 hour period. We are more than a little tired of new users who sign up and attempt to spam the Board to try to get either attachment download or FTP privileges. Registered may upload attachments, but may not download and can not search. They have no FTP privileges.

After a Registered users has been a member for 3 days and has 3 Posts, they become eligible for promotion to "New Member."

Usergroup "New Member" users have limited rights. They may only create 2 Threads and 2 Posts within a 24 hour period. "New Member" may upload attachments, but still may not download. New Member may search. They have no FTP privileges.

If you attempt to ask someone to send you files you aren't authorized to download or to upload them somewhere where you can download them, your Post will be deleted and if you keep doing so, your account will be banned.

All New Threads and New Posts by "Registered" and "New Member" Users are sent to a Moderation Que and will not appear until they have been approved by an Administrator. DO NOT POST AGAIN, JUST BECAUSE IT DOESN'T IMMEDIATELY SHOW ON THE BOARD.

After a New Member has been a member for 7 days and has 7 Posts, they are eligible for promotion to "Trial Member."

Usergroup "Trial Member" have limited rights. They may only create 3 Threads and 3 Posts within a 24 hour period. "Trial Members" may search and upload and download attachments. "Trial Members can view the FTP Upload and List Password.
After a "Trial Member" has been a member for 30 days and has 15 Posts, they are eligible for promotion to "Junior Member."

Posts of substance" does NOT include posting a "Thank you" type message to someone's post.

NO ONE WHO DOESN'T ALREADY HAVE 15 POSTS IS GETTING TO KEEP A "THANK YOU" POST, BECAUSE THEY ARE ONLY BEING MADE FOR POST COUNT. ALL SUCH POSTS ARE BEING DELETED. AFTER YOU ALREADY HAVE 15 POSTS, YOU CAN POST "THANK YOU" WHENEVER YOU WANT.

Once you have 15 posts of some substance and you become a "Junior Member" the "Download FTP password" Announcement becomes visible.


Usergroup "Junior Member" have "unlimited" rights. There are NO Thread or Posting restrictions (other than the Administrator's choice to delete). They may search, upload and download attachments and have full access to the FTP Upload & List and Download Passwords.

After a "Junior Member has achieved 60 Posts and has been a member for 60 days, they are eligible for promotion to "Senior Member".

PROMOTIONS ARE NOT AUTOMATIC. ALL ARE DONE MANUALLY AND ONLY AFTER A REVIEW OF THE USER'S POSTS BY AN ADMINISTRATOR.


ALL USERGROUPS MUST CHANGE PASSWORDS EVERY 90 DAYS

Although some of you will agree and some of you will disagree with these new Rules and Requirements, this is NOT a Democracy or a place where YOU get to make the Rules. It is a privately funded Forum paid for and maintained by Aaron, and as such, HE is entitled to make, and has made rules which we will live by, whether we approve of them or not. That's how life is. While I will listen to and consider your opinions in a separate thread, NONE of the posts in that thread will "count" for promotion purposes.
