Hello everyone,

As you might have noticed, there are two new forums/sections: Community Tools and Developer Section.

Community Tools is a section for tools created by someone in this community. Feel free to post your unpackers, import reconstructors, debuggers, plugins, utilities, etc. here.

The only rule is: post things you created yourself and make sure you don't post warez (IDA Pro, WinHex, VMWare are not welcome in this section).

I moved various topics from Interesting Reverse Software to here and I also took the tools from x64 OS and moved them here.

The problem is that I see many great community tools disappearing in the Reversing Software forum. If you created a tool yourself and posted it there, please reply to this topic. We will move it for you. Same applies when you see a tool from somebody else: reply here, we will move it.

"WinObjEx64" posted by me in x64 OS Section from kernelmode.info forum, I don't know if the authors (EP_X0FF & MP_ART) are already members here! so I guess it's not Exetools community tool according to the rules.

So, my question is: only the author can post his creations here? and which must be already (Exetools community) member? That it is the rule for this section...

Well, I have been thinking a lot about this, but I don't have a conclusive answer. Personally I feel like this tool belongs in this section, but you didn't make it, so strictly it should be in Software Release.

I will ask the administrators what they think.

No, you are free to release your applications closed source. As long as you created them yourself.

Personally, it will be good idea if we can post other reverse engineering tools here has Insid3Code said the author might not belong to this community, but need to acknowledge the author.eg. "ollydgb debugger by mr.exodia"

I have been thinking about this, but I came to the conclusion that this is a bad idea. Posting tools from other people is nice, but they can post it themselves if they want to. In addition to that it would make the rules too complex. Everybody can understand:

Only post things you created yourself. Consult a moderator if you feel a tool you didn't create belongs to this section anyway.

Yeah mr.exodia I'm with you, if anybody is releasing a mr.exodia tool it's going to be you -- people have to release their own stuff. Unless, of course, they're unregistered and won't?

Yes, that is when you should contact a moderator. Just post the tool in Software Release and PM me or reply in this topic.

No, you can share any tool you like in the Reversing Software section. This section is meant for tools you create, so they have more presence.

No, only post tools you created!

Alright, where should I post tool I bought myself and want to share it with community. Where should I post it?

If it is reversing software, post it in the reversing software section. Otherwise don't post it on exetools.
